As a Billups managing director, you will be leading teams who deliver innovative planning, direction and oversight for out-of-home executions. You’ll also be tasked with growing our organization through organic growth, new business development, managing regional operations and regional finances.  As part of the leadership team, you will help to grow and nurture our client relationships, train and develop our staff and support our technology development. As part of Billups, you’ll be on the cutting-edge of innovation as an early adopter of Boohma, a revolutionary planning software.

  • Leadership over 2-3 Regional Directors and their teams, comprising either the Eastern, Central or Western territories
  • Retaining and growing both legacy and new business via innovative planning, organic client development and non-stop outstanding service.
  • Business Development within defined territory focused on direct brands and agencies
  • Training regional leadership to ensure quality deliverables and direction
  • Identify and develop talent at all levels
  • Support, nurture and grow our teams by providing clear direction, implementing training and development, and seeking the right roles for the right skills
  • Provide strategic guidance and clear direction to achieve regional business goals
  • Creating an annual, regional business plan with a clear focus on sustained growth, team development, identifying head-winds and solutions


  • Create a team of powerful, informed storytellers who deliver thoughtful OOH plans that create value and results for our clients
  • Strategic sounding board, contribution and participation in plan development
  • Sets clear and strategic direction that tracks to client goals and objectives
  • Oversees collaborative efforts across all Billups functions and departments engaging resources early to ensure optimal performance
  • Identifying and implementing best practices towards delivering better outputs

Idea Generation

  • Proactively anticipate issues / problems; assist and challenges group to creatively identify solutions and facilitate dialogue
  • Identify new partners and services to advance client growth
  • Maintain relationships with regional clients to advance their needs and grow our relationship


  • A deliberate and skilled presenter with demonstrated ability to engage high level clients including C-suite and marketing executives
  • Manage regional KPI discussions supporting and holding regional leadership accountable
  • Demonstrates outstanding oral and written communication skills


  • 15+ years of experience in media planning and development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing or related media field
  • Full service media experience and comfort with media planning across all forms of media and industry
  • Experience in hiring, managing and leading a team
  • Agency experience preferred
  • Proven ability to create and deploy teams
  • Demonstrates a focused and strategic approach in plan development, integration and execution
  • Empathetic leadership to anticipate client needs
  • Capable of interacting and building relationships with team and departments of all levels and industry backgrounds, from the CEO to administrative support staff
  • Knowledge of all media vehicles and ad platforms with emphasis on positive and negative attributes and how they apply to various marketing situations
  • Flexible and effective problem solver
  • Extensive experience with media planning and buying as well as media research tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively with all functions and departments
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, presentation and relationship skills; proficient use and understanding of the English language
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Keynote is preferred

  • Must be organized with ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-moving culture
