What we are looking for

Billups is seeking a Media Planner to join our top-notch team in New York City. The Media Planner will collaborate with our team and clients to deliver innovative planning, direction and oversight for Out-of-Home executions. Out-of-Home media planning experience is required. Candidates with one to three years of experience will be considered. A candidate with experience at an OOH agency is preferred, but candidates with experience in an integrated agency will be highly considered. The Planner must be savvy with OOH formats, research tools and planning tools, and be an active student of industry trends. Responsibilities

Basic Job Criteria

  • Day-to-day client and team consultant
  • Directs and executes billing process seamlessly with vendors and the company
  • Manages client project requests and expectations
  • Ensures all plans and buys adhere to client needs, accuracy and consistency
  • Keeps superiors informed on all tasks / projects

Client

  • Valuable contributor and informed team member
  • Fiscally responsible for client media budgets
  • Team support, participation and contribution; main vendor contact

Planning/Buying

  • Leads, contributes and participates in plan development and discussions with team
  • Seeks innovation and integration with all formats of OOH including but not limited to traditional, non traditional, experiential, digital and events
  • Responsible for composing, proofing and ensuring high quality deliverables of our product
  • Works closely with all members of the team to ensure all aspects of day-to-day projects are being met
  • Collaborates with production, traffic and buying teams to ensure smooth transition of direction and implementation of the execution phases of the plan
  • Assists and/or leads media research for current clients and new business clients

Idea Generation

  • Seeks out new opportunities to apply to client needs as well as new / future client needs
  • Shares new ideas and opinions on industry (news, media, vehicles, etc.)
  • Supports Supervisor
  • Supports the management of day-to-day tasks / projects of Media Coordinators
  • Inspires and encourages team to suggest / recommend organic opportunities within the team and accounts
  • Contributes in growth of Coordinators’ knowledge and understanding of industry and trends

Communication

Internal (Media Team / Agency)

  • Media planning expert
  • Facilitates and maintains communication across team
  • Go to person for media planning, knowledge of the industry and trends

External (Media Team / Agency)

  • Active contributor and industry expert
  • Maintains strong media partner relationships
  • Abides by media vendor communication standards

 

Qualifications

  • 2-3+ years experience in media planning
  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing or related media field
  • Experience in planning across the out-of-home landscape
  • Agency and / or vendor experience preferred
  • Knowledge of media planning across all forms of media and industry
  • Media plan development skills and fine tuning logical writing
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal, relationship skills; proficient use and understanding of English language
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent knowledge in all media systems and resources including MRI, Adviews, Scarborough, IMS (R/F), SRDS, Nielsen, Arbitron, Map Point and Telmar
  • Mastery in advanced media math
  • Understanding of media terminology and can apply it to media math
  • Develops presentation presence and negotiating skills
  • Independent and self-motivated, yet also team-oriented
  • Must be organized with the ability to multi-task and excel in a fast moving culture
  • Demonstrates core values, desired competencies and behaviors at all times
